GROUND FLOOR: THE MAIN BAR, sets on the ground floor is the heart of Bar Time & Place, it combines beautiful art Deco interiors with traditional Spanish architecture. Visitors are first struck by the natural rock face behind the bar, which has been carefully treated to ensure the integrity of the bar while maintaining its natural beauty. The walls are about a metre thick. The bar counter runs in a long subtle S bend and is made of beautifully hand laid and polished oak parquets. To the left is a view of the back bar. Above the counter, hand crafted lights on dimmers and clever use of mirrors complete the effect, creating a room where several small groups can enjoy a quiet chat – or where a large group can have a secluded party. Air conditioning and large overhead fans ensure that conditions are comfortable whilst remaining unobtrusive. In winter, the heat from the wood stove in the cave keep the place warm and cozy. THE FRONT TERRACE The beautiful Plaza del Flores (plaza of flowers) provides the backdrop for the bar terrace, which is opens out onto the street along the front of the bar. Being a pedestrian area only, customers are never bothered with the intrusion and fumes of traffic which often spoil the open areas of other bars.

 

THE FIRST FLOOR consists of a large room with high wooden beamed ceiling and a professional kitchen (intended for restaurant use) with a small terrace overlooking the street. Off the kitchen is a complete bathroom with shower, sink and lavatory - to be an en suite bathroom should the new owner decides to convert it back to a house again.

 

TOP FLOOR New stairs lead up to the top of the house, which consists of a new modern bathroom in fashionable grey tiles, a space outside that includes a built in wardrobe with louvered doors leading towards the main bedroom through a space utilised now as a kitchenette complete with sink in an built in cupboard and a good working covering a smallish fridge and a washing machine. Planted by the previous owner, the tenor saxophonist, Dick Charlesworth and while growing up past three floors of the building, it also intertwined its way through the two iron “rajas” of the ground floor and first floor windows.
