AVI Almería is the main distributor for High Speed Internet Access in the Almería region. AVI (Alta Velocidad en Internet) uses radio transmission, or LMDS, allowing access to the Internet and telephone services without the need for conventional telephone lines, therefore making it far more accessible, even in remote areas.

This service is possible thanks to the new chain of telecomunications run by the company Iberbanda and sponsored by the Junta de Aldalucía's Mercurio Programme. The aim is to ensure that at least 70% of towns and villages within Andalucía have the infrastructure to allow access to broadband telecommunication.
