Beautiful corner of spectacular geology and fishing atmosphere. Fantastic beaches including the Black Hil that gives name to the town.
In we will find orchards watered by the water that comes from small volumes in the Boulevard of the Aguillas and gathered in species of rafts next to the sea.
The urban nucleus is formed by a group of simple, white houses, and some hotel facilities next to the sea; ideal for rest and enjoyment of the tranquillity. There are newer developments and villas on the outskirts of the town, but they have all been constructed tastefully. Some of the original apartments built in the late 70s and early 80s are a bit of an eyesore which has caused the Town Hall to present plans to give the worst ones a facelift.
Las Negras (or La Negra as it can also be known as) is a town of fishermen which up until recent years, was a very isolated community that lived a simple and quiet life. It was always visited by adventurous Spanish travellers who would spend the summer months enjoying the tranquility. Later joined by foreign travellers who would come exploring the Cabo de Gata Natural Park. This promoted the town and in time it prepared itself to accomodate those who visited. |
