The typical village hamlet of Los Chopos is located at an altitude of 669 meters in the province Almeria, within the autonomous community of Andalucia, o­n the Costa de Almeria.

Los Chopos can be found o­n the road from Los Raimundos of Antas, to Los Materos which then forks towards either El Marchal of Lubrin or Bedarin and then o­n to the town of Bedar. Both the towns of Bedar and Lubrin (and Antas) provide all necessary amenities with pharmacies, banks, bars/restaurants & shops, although van deliveries of bread and fresh fish are made to all surrounding villages of the area.

In and around Los Chopos you can enjoy bird watching and long walks in the beautiful countryside or visit the Sanctuary of Cabezo de Maria o­n the outskirts of Antas, o­n the road that travels through the orange groves to the Autovia taking you to either Almeria City or the Region of Murcia. If you travel down the rambla, accessible with a normal car, you arrive at the village of Jauro that takes you back towards La Huerta, Aljariz and the main town of Antas. O­nce a year all the surrounding villages enjoy the exciting dusty & noisy motor cross – a big pull for all teenagers in the area!
