Is there a wrong time? I have been given 2k of jersey royals, they are going soft and I don't think they will last too long, so I was thinking of planting them, what's your thoughts?

Many thanks for any answers.

John.

Stick em in John - if they have shoots -- then plenty of water -- and you'll have some little ones by end September!

Thanks Michael, obviously growing periods are totally different here in southern Spain and for instance many seeds, carrots, radish, lettuce and some others can be planted any month of the year. (Says the packets!)

John.

It may be a good idea to grow your own spuds, as yesterday on the news some of the Spanish farmers were saying that they were going to leave the potato crop in the ground as the money they would receive for them wouldn't cover their costs, icon_sad.gif

Pottsy - yes it's normal for the potato foliage to flower; normally once the blooms / flowers have completely faded the plant can be dug up and the spuds 'harvested'.

Just started digging my, first ever, spuds up, doesn’t seem that long ago that I planted them.
I never realised the humble potato could taste so good.
Go for it John. icon_biggrin.gif
