OK, so this is a bit like 'How long is a piece of string'! but just wondering if anyone can give a guide for me.

We've just completed on a 2 bed, 2 bath apartment with balcony and a rooftop solarium. We have air conditioning already installed. We are not going to rent it out, but we are going to let family use it. We don't want to charge them for the pleasure, neither to we want to pay out for their pleasure!!

I just wondered what anyone might think a weekly price would be to cover costs of water, heating etc?? Obviously it's a guide only.

Thank you

It's not just the Electric costs, the water is metered so that will be extra if you have a dishwasher/washing machine, and of course showers/baths, plus if you have any gas appliances, you need to factor in gas usage. Also as Baby girl says if they don't want to clean the apartment on the day they leave then you would have to get someone in to wash the linen and do a clean, the costs of which will depend on how many people were using the apartment , and if they use the oven. So in that case perhaps 40.00 euros on top of the electric and water/gas.

True enough .....unless you hire out to a large Spanish contingent.

Not really, unless you can get a family of 4 into a hotel for roughly 280.00 for a week in high season? (1 bed apartment) or in this ladies case roughly 100.00 euros for a party of friends and family of 6.

By the time you have paid for the water, electric, cleaning, laundry etc i would take an approx. cost of between 100-130 per week at least. even if you ask them for 150 a week its a bargain. I have offed my apartment to friends and relatives in the past for cost and end up paying extras. You never know what may go wrong or break and as far as they are concerned they are on holiday and are not thinking of your costs.

150 is about right when you take everything into account and as someone else mentioned that doesn't really take into account wear and tear on everything. It is often forgotten that there may be a few cups broken, a tap that needs repairing, may be a shower curtain etc. These little bits and bobs add up to 100 down Lopez every time you come out to your place.

It is still a cheap holiday for somebody. When you look at some posts on this forum claiming people are "greedy" for letting flats out for 300 per week etc it does fill me with despair. I get the impression some people are expecting 50 bargains just because the country is in trouble, rubbing their hands at possible desperation. At the end of the day people just want to cover costs, and things still cost real money to maintain.
