I have a problem with my Espa swimming pool pump.I bought it to replace one that I had had for 15 years ,not an Espa, last June. I used it for 3 months last year, and 2 months this year, and on Saturday it just packed up.It had been fine up till then.I pressed the thermal overload switch, but nothing.I phoned the man who supplied it,but he says his electrician/fitter doesn't work for him anymore ,due to fathers health problems.I cant get anyone to look at it.Would an ordinary electrician be able to do it,do you think? The pump was guaranteed for 12 months,so is 1 month out of guarantee, but as I have not used it during the winter,I think it is a bit unfair that I may have to buy a new one.
I Googled problems for Espa, and on a Spanish website,I found that there have been problems with the controller. My pool is here in the UK ,by the way.
Any advice would be very welcome.

Order a couple [only one is needed] 12MFD run capacitors plus leads; from REMCO phone 01243-528414. web remco.co.uk

Fit on the side of the motor same as the one fitted,[take old one of off cause] connect the 2 lead as like the one fitted and with luck you should be up and running

The cost in June 2011 for the capacitors were 7-70 including postage

Forgot to say that they have a service depot in the UK, used to be in Bury St Edmunds

Many thanks for that.My pool man ,who is off to Spain this a.m. came out and confirmed it was the capacitor, and he is sending his electrician out this morning. It is good to have the details of the supplier .though, and I will be ordering a spare. Many thanks, Di. PS It is great to be in my pool regularly now in the UK. We sat out until late last night, and pretended we were in Spain! Even down to the vino and tapas !
