I'm sure most people will have been paying this since day 1 of purchasing their property in Spain.
Yes, it's the charge for rubbish collection, we have always been expecting the bill, but it never arrived.
Well you've guessed it, finally it has, 8 years + interest @ 982e, ouch....
More fool us
It still wasn't sent to our Spanish Address or Bank,it just came up in conversation when our solicitor was sorting out our non-resident taxes with the council!

We have been trying to pay this for the last couple of years. still not sorted. Went into the town hall offices at Vera but the language barrier was a problem, I did try my night school spanish but didnt get very far. Not sure where to go to now.

At the risk of stating the obvious, why not take someone with you who does speak the language? _________________ Graeme
Go into the garucha office [next to the local police office ] that is below the plazer in the one way high street , take your rates receipt with you and they will sort it out by giving you a receipt's which you take into your bank and pay within 3 days

Non-resident tax income tax is paid to the Agencia Tributaria NOT the local town hall. It has nothing to do with IBI or basura. You cannot pay it by direct debit.
It is calculated by taking 1,1% of the valor catastral (2% if the values in the municipality a have not been revised since 1994) to obtain the taxable base to which a percentage of 24,75% is then applied. (All this will change next year)
A separate return has to be made by each person in whose name the property is registered.

It is divided by the number of people named in the escritura which, in most cases, is probably two but it is the taxable base that is divided by two on the form 210 not the final figure but it results in the same amount.

This is my first time of using any type of forum so please bear with me
Can anyone tell me how and where I can pay a Basura bill in or near Vera ? I need to get an up to date bill first as the one I have was out of date when I went to pay in the bank in garrucha ?
I was sent from the town hall in Vera to garrucha but could not find relevant place?
It is below the plaza [ sort of large square with tables and chairs on ] in Garucha high st , the local police station is next door , just walk down the slope you will see the local police station sign, sharp right
