There will always be some winners and losers , in fact it should be easer to sell your place in Spain now as a year ago I know of people taking over 2/3 years to get their property sold , one was around 300k sold after 2 years for around 175 another one that went for around 250k 4 years ago went last year for 80k after all tax's paid

Hi

Of course one has to take into account the rate when they bought, to ascertain whether it is a loss or not.

Plus, there are people who stuck their property on at silly high prices, ignoring market conditions. The agents put little effort into selling overpriced property, what is the point?

SO no sales, the owners grumble and moan, then reluclantly follow the market down eventually.

They finally sell then find that UK prices have moved on up, while they played silly buggers. Whereas if they had sold at market price say 3 years ago, they would have done better in the UK

I was thinking more of expats living on pensions who by choice want to stay living in Spain.
It is good news for them , but as you say Pottsy quite rightly there are always winners and losers !

Hi
FT100 and most other shares have fallen more or less in line with the gaining against the so no win if you rely on both , and the money men win again.
