Has anyone had any contact re cleaning, reprogramming or disconnecting the Chip causing the deisel Volkswagon scandal?

Does anyone know what the levels of the various emissions are, that ITV test looks for in deisels cars?

Are particulates checked in ITV test?

I understand that FACUA may be involved offrr information/help, anyone had contact with them?

Don't think it makes much difference to the performance or the mpg , the big problems is , in some countries ,Ireland is one of them , when you go over a certain emission rating, even by only fractions ..your car tax will be a lot more expensive ....so in effect it will be local councils etc that will lose out on millions if not billions on tax revenue ....watch out for litigation from various country's on that one ......it will be interesting!

I think you will find it will make a big difference with MPG/performance, timing/fuel is done electrically so when it is stationary [ no steering wheel moment ] it is set for low emission , but you are right about the tax increase just hope this tax doesn't go back many years

Looking at the media and press over the weekend this story has along way to go. Clearly other major manufacturers are involved apart from the brands under the VW banner.
Regarding MPG figures I personally haven't ever taken much notice of them as they are never realistic !

For VW in Spain, ou can use this link to find out if your car is one of the ones to need arecall or whatever they are calling it these days. You will need your VIN number either from your car registration docs or you can find it at the lower left corner of the windscreen,
see the website http://bit.ly/1MQ8PEd

Checked ours and it will not need a check up at the garage. Coped everything from the website to keep with our car docs,
