Hi all

Jus been reading the posts about the break ins, in fase 4.
I myself have a apartment on fase 3 and it is a worry to think of these break ins happening just on our door step.

I personally think all chipping in a few euros each is a very small amount for the satisfaction of peace of mind and security.

We need 24hr patrol and a main gate that is also manned 24hrs a day as a deterrent.

I think this matter should be raised to our presidents and vice presidents and we need to come to a solution that is going to stop these break ins and vandalism once and for all.

Best Wishes
Gerry

Hi Gerry,

We do need to do something -I must admit I had only thought of installing scissor type security grills, fancy doing a feasibility study on your idea?

A CCTV System seemed a good Idea to me.
It has been suggested before.
Its a one off investment of maybe Two cameras per Phase locate where each phase road turns. From that position they should be able to record all the coming and goings on all roads.
With enough warning signs it may be enough to move burglars on to an easier location.

Sounds good to me Doc - perhaps we should all push it with our respective Presidents.

Further update on the break-ins, someone tried to jemmy open our entrance door today or last night. Luckily they didn't succeed, its a metal frame and door - just bent the frame and marked the door, probably disturbed by someone.

We also have a pretty stout metal inner door and alarm system, but it is a very unpleasant feeling that a try has been made and very worrying that these thieves are still actively targeting P.M. Seems like the are now moving to fase 2!

PM is no more susceptible than any other place in Mojacar. Sometimes it's the new arrivals (either pale or glowing red) that attract attention and may be followed. If you don't roll shutters down when you go out it makes an easier target. Unfortunately there are low lifes that seem to spot opportunities and take advantage.
We haven't had a problem, but that is just luck, so we've fitted rejas.
Thieves will always look for the easier opportunity, open doors etc, so make it difficult and they'll go elsewhere.
