Oops. Nearly got excited then Colin, only wrong type of bowling for me. Good news for tenpin bowling fans though.

I am a lawn bowls addict, play about 4 times a week in Yorkshire, it doesn't seem all that popular in Almeria though. Any members know of any lawn green clubs. I know of one at Mojacar but looks very expensive to join.

I know of three in the immediate area - The Cabrera B C, The Indalo B C and the Almeria B C. I also know of one in Mazarron. There are probably more, seems quiter a popular sport.

Can tell you anything about fees, I don't play myself, so have no information.

Graeme,

Thanks for the info, after searching I found they all have websites aswell. Membership is between 200 and 280 per annum though. I will be a permanent resident in about 4 years time. So will be worth it. icon_biggrin.gif icon_biggrin.gif

Any more lawn bowling enthusiasts amongst Viva membership?

the bowling alley at Agulias shopping centre is 4.50 pp and you wear your own shoes. its a bit of a long way to go if you live near Arboleos but with the traffic works etc if you live the motorway side it may be better to go to Aguilas than Arboleas and you can make a day of it as well there with the shops and the restaurants within the centre and the beach within walking distance. the alley also has arcade games which always goes down a treat with the younger ones.

Sounds great to me, something a little different to do. Anybody tried it yet? Will do so when back in Spain in October.

Its 3.50 per game with 1 shoe hire. I think its maximum of 6 can play on one lane.

No membership - open to all.

There is a bistro and bar if you just want to watch.
