Please note that I have removed all topics and threads which have been idle for the last two years. They were unnecessary clutter and will obviously not be missed! Any old topics which have registered some activity since then have been left on the site.

As most of you are aware, some of our newest members have been determined to cause trouble on the forums. Although I spent many hours trying to deal with this situation, things have got seriously out of hand.

It has been with great regret that I have had to take drastic measures to try to overcome this situation.

Anyone who does not use these forums appropriately and for the reasons for which they were created will be receiving a PM from me asking them to refrain from their attitude. I shall be asking them nicely to abide by the rules and expected tone of the forums. If my PM is not heeded I shall not ask them again but simply delete their posts automatically and systematically until they learn how to make posts which are constructive, useful and on-topic.

As moderator, I try to find and maintain a balance that will satisfy and please ALL our members, even though I am aware that I am severely criticised by some for being ‘bossy’ and ‘school-mistressy’ (albeit mainly by the troublemakers of one sort or another whose personal aspirations to run things their way have been thwarted by me in the past!) In that quest, I have no option but to insist on ALL our members observing and respecting the tone of the forums in general and of the individual threads in particular.

To the nearly 20,000 members of these Forums, I promise that, for as long as I am in charge of moderating this site, Forum Etiquette WILL prevail and that troublemakers will either toe the line or leave. They will not be allowed to spoil the enjoyment of the majority nor disrupt the smooth running of a site that was created with ALL of you in mind.
