Does anyone have experience of 'heatsava' or anything similar - its a chemical 'cover' for pools that reduces water loss and heat loss (apparently), and alternative to solar pool covers.

Google hasnt heard of it (well, except once)

Hi Liquid pool covers have been around for a while.
They work by reducing evaporation and that reduces heat loss, I have no personal experience of liquid blankets but sales companies promote their benefits as efficient and cheap.
Check this website for further details and let me know how you get on, it is available in Spain.

I would not expect more than a few degrees increase in temperature from this method, a solar pool cover of the correct type and used when the pool is not in use would provide a temperature gain of up to 5deg.C

Regards, Dave
