Have recently moved to the Albox area, and have inherited some olive trees. Sadly they haven't been looked after, but two of the olive trees have produced large black olives. Is it worth pressing them ourselves and where do we buy or hire a reasonably priced one? I don't think there are enough olives to take to a co operative.
would think not worth it, could you add your olives to that of neighbours to make it worth going to a press?
It is what people who have olive trees normaly do. They bring their olives to a pres (called ALMAZARA). They give you olive oil by return (no idea home many litre per kilo). Find out around your place wher the nearest almazara is, if it is interesting for you.

Think carefully about chopping down olive trees. I understand (there were comments on here) that they are on a census of some kind and that you must obtain permission first from the ministry of agriculture.
