Like many others (hello ejay) I am now an infrequent visitor

Less to do with the posters than the biased and at times downright rude way in which the site is run.

I wonder what has happened to 'forums' in general. This one seems the better of the local ones - yet has very little movement these days. Maybe Facebook has killed the Forum (Yikes!)

I've been having a look at this one http://www.kn0wall.co.uk/forum/index.php
which seems very good so I think I will join. Have also looked at the Arboleas one but it is full of negative people who seem only wanting to be hateful and sarcastic to others. Not good, I think.

Some things never change on forums, and that is members signing up to promote or denigrate other forums, considering you have very few posts on here you have some interesting views on the management of Viva, have you previously had another name on here?

Quick question for you when I click on the Knowall link I as a non member cannot see any of the content, only the details of how to register, how can you see the posts as you say you have not yet registered? icon_rolleyes.gif Maybe you could have a word with the owner to allow guests to read the forum, who knows we might then join up!

cab2, my partner is a member of the other forum so I have been able to guage the tone of it. Having been looking for quite some time, and also not being a complete idiot, I would suggest my views are as valid as anyone elses! I have happily registered there.
There simply seems to be nicer people on the other forum who don't just want to jump down your throat all the time, like here and also the Arboleas forum. Try this link to find more info
http://www.kn0wall.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=26
pottsy189 I am certainly not creepy by name or nature, though I know who you mean! One of my friends used to be a member on here quite a time ago, and gave up - for his own reasons, though very valid reasons they were too concerning the management of this forum. If people don't like the way a forum is run they don't have to participate. I join forums to learn, and to share information I may have that might be of use to someone. Generally forums tend to flourish rather better when participants realise that a little respect goes a long way, and that all our opinions are valid. Hardly rocket science!

Kianda, I can't see where your opinion has been disrepected! I asked how you were able to make a judgement on the management on here and whether you had previously posted under a different name. People do forget their passwords and re-register, it's not a crime!

The Arboleas forum is quite entertaining, it is nice to read diverse views, and Chelseaphil runs a tight ship and offloads troublemakers, the worst type of forum is where everyone agrees with one another, Viva diversity and debate!

I hope you enjoy your new forum, though I'm still at a loss to know why you registered here as you say your friend had a torrid time and waited until today to join a forum that has a good vibe which you read when logged on as your partner. Maybe it's all this heat! , it can make us all act in strange ways icon_lol.gif

You might well be right about the heat, it's been the hottest summer I remember for a few years - time for a cold beer and a swim, I think!
