have been advised by my bank (Barclays.es) of the need to complete a Form declaring all my worldwide assets, anyone else know about this. ty

Yes its a new law, if your resident in Spain for over 6 months you have to declare your world wide asset in Spain, The fine for not doing so is 10k euros and a smaller amount per undeclared asset after that icon_sad.gif Have a look on the Andalusia site , a good thread about it on there.

Hope the Spanish govenement don't do a Cyprus on permament residents and convinscate 10% [tax] on your savings in Spanish bank's

This doozy Spanish govenment will look at anything to raise money,ie tax on rent when you do not rent out;tax on income even when you do not work in Spain; and other things that I can't remember to stupid to mention, country is in big trouble !

Many countries are in big trouble, look at what's happening in Cyprus. Each troubled country has to try and raise the cash it needs, by whatever method it can dream up.

I remain to be convinced that the UK leaving Europe would be good for the UK and even less good for its ex-pats.

strong rumors yesterday that ..SPAIN..and even ITALY ..may now go down the route of taking a percentage og savings and investement fron bank accounts..with large number of people ..in the so called know making cash withdrawals ..noticed any ques at cash machines icon_rolleyes.gif icon_rolleyes.gif
