Hi all, driving from zurgena down to Malaga on the A7 motorway, has the road be opened all the way yet. Only last time I drove down part of the motorway was closed off. Cheers.

I've never driven down that way but as far as I am aware they still have not built the missing section and I guess it is one of those road projects that will remain on hold during the current economoc climate.

As above, I have never driven to Malaga but I believe that the quickest route is to take the A92 not the A7. From Zurgena I would go up the A334 to Baza then join the A92 - about 70Km past Granada take the A92M then after another 25Km you have a choice of either the A45 or the AP46 (presumably one is free and busy and the other is quite but you have to pay).

Watch out for radar speed traps especially around the tunnels near Malaga. We recieved fine notification about 4 weeks after the incident.

Sandi - good point - Last time I went to Granada on the A92 (May) there was a helicopter flying around between Baza and Guadix. At Guadix I was stopped. The Guadia officer checked my number plate and his scrap of paper then told me to carry on. However, the Jag that had gone zooming past me got done. 15 minutes later he shot past me again so didn't learn anything!
