San Javier Airport are losing traffic with Alicante taking up the slack. San Javier's managers AENA have just given out a 5 year contract for the car park so there's is little likely hood of it shutting once Corvera is up and running. Short term of course this would be a good thing for us as it would give us two Murcia airports to choose from instead of one. However long term it will mean both airports will most likely lose money so that wont be good. For more click on the link below. And for anyone that missed my announcement yesterday Ryanair are to start a new route between Dublin and Almeria from next year.

what good news - nothing better than flying in and out of San Javier (mind you, we stay at La Manga). To wait in departures looking out at the Mar Menor and palm trees and then to walk across the tarmac to get on the plane - almost makes coming home bearable.....almost.

San Javier is a small tidy airport with very little clutter . passengers get in and out without much effort will Covera be better or just cluttered .

Hi
If Corvera opens! I would also use it also if San Javier closed and flights were available to and from either Newcastle or Durham Tees . Have used Almeria but nothing flies to either of my chosen airports now , so use San Javier or at least use till October when flights stop till around April or May during which time the best choice is Alicante a large cluttered airport the same as I imagine that Corvera will be , not a choice of preference but one based on getting to a destination .
regards
Keith
