Has anyone experience of installing a garden irrigation system? We are not full time residents at the moment & we put some palms, bougainvillea & other plants in in March, managing to water them daily before we left. They have had very little water since, (big error of judgement on our part) Does anyone know of a good irrigation system that can be used on a timer with a hose? Or any other ideas welcomed!!!!

Further to my previous post, does anyone happen to know of an agrcultural supplier open to the public, where we might buy irrigation tubing etc, in the Mojacar / Antas area? Farmers must use miles of irrigation tubing!

Have you tried Ramblizo at Antas?

Thank you, no we haven't. Have just looked at their website and it seems worth a go. We are in the UK at the moment, but hubby needs to come out next week and rescue plants we put in, in March!....with some sort of irrigation system.

Seems to me the problem with these systems is the incredibly hard water that exists in some areas. I've heard of more than one instance where the pipes have simply clogged up during the owners absence. Might be worth checking with the neighbours for local experience.

All the Garden Centres stock all you need.

There is a great place that the locals use in Vera.

To find it, from the Vera roundabout with the huge fountain, near the Bullring take the road signed to the itv station, there are car dealers on the right, on the left there is a Petrol Station, just by the pumps turn left down a ramp into a parking area, there is a shop/warehouse over on the right. They have all you need, plus if you have a plant problem. give the guy on the counter a sample leaf and he will give you the correct stuff to spray on.
