Does anyone know if Playa Macenas is going bust.I know the golf course has,but I just read a trip advisor report by someone who stayed there last week and they said there was no one serving at the bar and the golf course was shut and the place generally had an air of desolation. They went home a week early because of the lack of atmosphere.
I would like to buy there, because the houses and setting looks so nice, but is it worth the risk.I just worry that the Water and Electric companies could possibly stop the supplies there if the Bills are not paid.
On the other hand,if someone buys it and invests in it,property prices will eventually increase.
All thoughts gratefully appreciated.Di.
Very risky , if you were that keen should have bought when the pound was strong not now that it has collapsed temper y , one is not sure how the EU will be like in a couple off years time , Spain could be back to the peseta , then you have the terrerest problems , ALL VERY RISKY , I would not do it

Hi,Yes I did buy about 12 years ago,a nice cortijo which we knocked down and rebuilt in Santa Maria de Nieva, but I was thinking of getting a small place on the coast as well, for when the family visits. However, you have just confirmed my thoughts about buying.I may be just as well renting a villa for the weeks they come out in Summer, and invest my money in the UK housing market.
I am not too worried about terrorism. If the b...ers want to get you, they will .No use worrying about it.
I do like coming out to Mojacar though. There is always something to do and somewhere to go for a nice coffee, and I love to paseo at night. It is just so pleasant.
Thank you for your thoughts.I wouldn't be buying until next year though,if I do,as I have to sell my stud farm here in the UK.I have a buyer, but I still have my 2 old race mares here, and cant sell until one of them is no longer with us!
As a friend remarked,I will probably pop my clogs before they do!
Di.
