Spoke to Alhambra again today, they tell me that the latest news on the roads and pavement resurfacing is that work will start at the end of October and continue until December. If it ever happens it will almost be a pity we are getting quite used to living in a bomb site.

Hope all is well.... as you can see David and I are being model PM citizens at the moment.....we are taking the medication and it appears to be working!!!

Cheers for now.

Just had a text from someone who is out there at the moment, they have started on the roads, not however the expected tarring, but more drilling.....eeek...

eh Doc do you think you should up your meds.... you seem to be hallucinating about it being so quiet.....thats the second time you have mentioned it.

Would you like me to start shouting to break the silence....

Saw the drilling rig going up to 3 today, although I must admit I haven't heard anything down in our bit of 2.

Judging from the cracks that are still appearing in the roads, there is still a bit of work to do yet before they resurface. Probably why the works are forecast to extend into December, I thought it seemed a long time! Time to go and visit our grandchildren in the UK!

Well works underway on pinning fase 3s pool and I assume their road - lots of noise etc now. They were a couple of days late starting according to the schedule of works included with the minutes of the last meeting (and the all important voting slip) which anyone who still has a postal service will get soon or has already.

Haven't seen much activity elsewhere yet, I will keep you informed if anything exciting happens- well at least we have something to watch in the "quiet season"!

Don't forget to vote so that we can use the nice big pool currently belonging to Falcon/Grand Vista (note, I have cut out all the other boring detail).

Regards

Thanks for the subtle hint Anna, didn't notice the typo -now corrected.

What's a cheap flight?, I think it's something only available to London and the major cities in the North. We now have to use Alicante and pay about 200 -250 inc taxes for both of us, when we fly into the West Country. The days of cheap flights have "flown"!

Oh dear, u need to move your family from the West Country nearer to a big airport.... East Midlands seems a good choice...do you think they will want to....? Alternatively, fly to Gatwick/Stansted, take in a Show and a bit of London shopping then get the train.....no, no....okay then!!

Ear Muffs, just the thing, oh and a smog mask......!

No activity on resurfacing the roads or pavements yet, despite a schedule of works - wonder if we will ever see these workmen? Must go and have a deep and meaningful conversation with Alhambra!

Have spoken once again to Alhambra today, they kept insisting that work on the roads and pavements had started. Eventually after pointing out a couple of times that I lived there and therefore was in a better position to know, it was accepted that work hadn't started and they would "chase up" the contractors.

Watch this site, but don't hold your breath!

Dear All,

Just returned from a week in the UK and still no activity on the roads, pavements or the pools. Fase 1 and 3 pools are both dry and partially dug up.

Still at least we can't complain about noise from workmen!

Puerto Marina has never been the prettiest of Constructions but I expect every other owner bought for the same reasons as us. The most amazing sea views from every major room in the apartment and a home you can live in,for us, unbeatable as yet. and we do look. Two beds on Macenas beach with a glimpse of the sea 380,000 Euros and smaller in size and no garage. Just Holiday homes.
So why are PM apartments struggling to reach 200K
However good PM is, there will always be owners wanting to sell for a variety of personal reasons but with the roads and pools in disrepair sales are sluggish. (9 apartments for sale with just one agent)
The roads need to be repaired as soon as possible in order for the backlog in sales to be cleared. I think it may now take a few years to correct itself with many sellers waiting to move on.
I think most peoples thoughts are on Christmas at the moment and we might see some serious jumping up and down in the new year.

Returned from PM today. The ground from around pool One has been excavated and replaced with poured concrete. The ramp alongside Gran Vista had also been removed and replaced with new concrete.Access along ramp was not possible due to work on both. There were at least 10 workpeople and 4 Vehicles on site Wed. Thursday was a holiday.
