P.A.W.S. / PATAS was the first Animal Welfare Society in the Mojacar area of Spain and therefore plays an extremely important role in protecting and caring for the huge numbers of stray animals and those abandoned o­n the streets each year.

P.A.W.S. is affiliated to the RSPCA in the UK, from whom we received funding towards the new development of the centre. P.A.W.S. are also affiliated to a sister organisation in Holland, through whom we are able to re-home many dogs and over o­ne third of the funding for the new centre was raised through the Dutch connection. We are at present investigating the possibility of similar arrangements with organisations in Germany and Austria.

We still desperately need donations from the public to finance the day to day running costs - feeding, inoculations, diagnostic blood testing, spaying and neutering. (donations can be made via Pay pal through our web site) The average cost of processing o­ne dog through the centre is 185 Euros. Friend Of P.A.W.S. from 15 Euros per year. For this you receive two newsletters per year and an invitation to vote at the Annual General Meetings. You will receive two newsletters per annum keeping you abreast of P.A.W.S. activities, social functions, and fund raising events as well as keeping you informed about all aspects of the society.

Platinum Card from 25 Euros per year. This gives you access to free gifts and discounts from over 60 animal friendly businesses throughout the area, actually giving you the opportunity to recoup some or all of the 25 Euro joining fee! In addition you will receive 2 newsletters per year plus voting rights at the Annual General Meetings.
