I was advised on this site that it is imposible to insure a British car for driving in Spain, so you have a maximum of 90 days, driving on your British insurance - I later found out that in fact there is one company that is based in Cadiz (staff speak excellent english) and in the south of England that specialise in insuring british cars in Spain - they are very reasonable and worth it if you want to use your car for more than 90 days. it includes breakdown cover too. Wish i could mention the name but it begins with A and advertises in the Spanish edition of English newspapers.
