I Love El-Saltador. My brother, mother and I first visited in 2008 (we were on an Inspection Trip with Ambersun International) - but failed to find a property we could afford. However, we did not give up and returned this year, 2009, specifically to view the most wonderful re-sale property there (that we had come across during our various online searches) where-by the English owners had become interested in our "straight house swap" idea/offer - ie our two UK Homes, for their one - the values more or less equalled out. We viewed the house 3 times - it was the home of our dreams, and we returned to the UK eager to proceed with the deal. The English owners were due to come out to our own homes following our visit to theirs - but it was obviously "not meant to be" and we lost the house, i think, to a local Spanish Couple who just knocked on their door after we had left, and offered a cash deal of 20,000 over the asking price we had agreed on.
I still love El-Saltador, and it would still be my first choice of where I would want to live - mainly because apart from being beautiful in it''s own right, it is also very close to Huercal-Overa which is just minutes away. For now though, my brother, mother and Ie have secured a "Rent to Buy" property, a beautiful totally reformed 200 year old Cortijo on the outskirts of Santopetar, and are due to move in at the beginning of October :-)
I predict El-Saltador will prove to be "THE place to live" - there''s not alot there at the moment by way of amenitites, but once the new Bar/Restaurant is completed and shop, plus the bus direct into Huercal-Overa which Ambersun told us about (and showed us where the bus-stop would be) - where else could be in better proximity to Huercal-Overa - and yet also within easy reach of the surrounding beaches :-)
