just come back from 2 great weeks in Arboleas staying with family.
San Juan although being a very gentle sloping beach was, I found, packed solid mainly with locals, the sea was full of floating plastic bags and seaweed.
Have been before in May/June and it was much better.
Still, what do you expect in high season! Good sand, great for kids as it slopes out to sea very slowly.
A victim of its own popularity! Liked it a lot though!

This is a reat beach for families with children however it is on a busy main road, we were there in late afternoon (15-16.30) and it was empty which meant you could tan & swim nude. Not to sure if this would be acceptable in full season.
There are plenty of places to get food and drink and there is a car park area which has access under the main road for safety reasons which is a good move

Carry on through San Juan towards Aguilas and you will find several bays of outstanding beauty. Tranquil settings less populated in the early parts of summer than those at the main beach. Wonderful area and most bays have a small beach bar serving food and drinks for those that like to travel light. THE W

This is a beautiful beach. The sea is very warm, there are beach bars where you can get food and drink. There are also shops 2 minutes walk from the beach that sell everything you need from food to inflatable toys. There is also a rock sticking out into the sea which you can jump from
