Ever fancied travelling back in time and experience what it would have been like in the pioneering wild west of America. Now is the time to see what it was really like with our excursion off to the largest of the film studios in this area. Previously this area was used to film the Spaghetti Westerns so if you want tread in the footpaths of Clint Eastwood, Lee Van Cleef and other cowboys, here is the place to come. You start by departing for Tabernas. As We travel through the Andalucian countyrside, you will start to discover real Spain. The journey from Vera takes us approximately 55 minutes and you will travel in air conditioned comfort. You have the choice of packing your own pic-nic to go or you can enjoy the all you can eat buffet at the resort.

As soon as you arrive you will be straight in to the old west town with it's sand floors and wooden floor board walkways. It is essential to have footwear with you as they will not allow you to enter bare foot. Throughout the day there are wild west shows ranging from gunfights and jail breaks through to saloon shows with can can girls.

Once you have wandered around the town, you may want to relax around the pool area with it's free sunbeds. There are changing areas here and water slides for little and large children. Alternatively head towards the restaurant for the all you can eat buffet ( ticket purchased on the gate).

After you have worked on your tan, head up towards the animal park. Throughout certain times of the year there is a road train to take you around the animals if you don't fancy walking around. Here you will find big cats, giraffes, brown bears and a whole assortment of different creatures.

In the late afternoon you could then head down to the photo store where for a few Euros ( €7 as of summer 2009) you can dress up as an indian chief, indian girl, can can girl, cowboy etc and have your photo taken in sepia. In summer the park closes at 9 at night so this really is a fun packed day.
