Cortijo El Ciruelo is a traditional style Andalucian farm house dating back over 200 years when it was one of the main estates in the area harvesting almonds and tending goat herds.
The house is 1,000m above sea level and is surrounded by mature pine forests. It sits at the base of El Mojonar on the edge of the Sierra de Maria National Park. The terrain of the National Park covers some 55,600 acres of outstandingly beautiful landscape with rugged mountains, pine forests and holm oak plantations.
The cortijo is 3km off the A92N between Velez Rubio 14km away and Chirivel 10km with the final 1.5km being a track through almond groves. Velez Blanco and Maria are 20km and 29km away respectively. The region embracing these towns is known at Los Velez
All in all Cortijo El Ciruelo offers characterful accommodation which has all the comforts you could wish for but in a relaxed and informal setting
The cortijo has recently been renovated to a very high standard providing a combination of double and twin bedrooms, all en suite bath/shower rooms. In addition there is a cosy guest lounge area with wood burning stove. Meals are taken round a large refectory table or outside if preferred.
All bedrooms are centrally heated and offer beverage making facilities, hair dryer, electric fans etc. Bottled water is provided free of charge. There is a well stocked guest fridge which operates on an \\\"honesty bar\\\" basis.
Outside there is ample parking to the rear and secure storage for bicycles.

The above are based upon a minimum of 2 nights accommodation, a single night's accommodation will attract a €10 supplement per room
