In a traditionally Spanish atmosphere, a variety of both Andalucian and national dishes are served for

Surrounded by a comprehensive collection of antique farm implements that the village forefathers used in the cultivation of their land, you could try our:
- Gurullos. A hotpot with handmade miniature dumplings and rabbit.
- Migas. Dough made from wheat flour, worked by hand until it can be crumbled and served with such tasty morsels as sauted meat, garlic and peppers.
Trigo Cortijero. Hotpot with wheat and meat. - Conejo al Ajillo. Rabbit grilled with garlic.
- Berza Almeriense. Hotpot of meat, potatoes, cabbage, and blood sausage etc.
- Lentajes. Lentil hotpot
- Potaje de Habichuelas. Green bean pottage
These dishes are prepared with great care by Lola. Born in Lucainena, like many generations of her family before her, Lola learnt the techniques of how to prepare such delicious but simple recipes from her grandmother and mother.

“El Museo” and art
Many of the items from the village museum were used to provide the decoration in the Traditional Restaurant.
Our objective was to establish a blend of tradition and modern designs, the paintings with the farm implements from days gone by, the Traditional and the Gourmet Restaurants.
Our menus are selected to appeal to the eye as well as the palate and as this, in itself, is an art; we wanted to create an atmosphere where painters and artists can exhibit their works.
In each bedroom as well as throughout the hotel, you will find works from a variety of artists such as:-
Deborah Waterson. A South African painter, who used to live in Mojácar, Almeria www.dcgalleria.net
Hedy Koch. A Swiss artist who lives and works in her home country www.hedykoch.ch
Manuel Coronado. Well known Spanish painter who lives and works in Aguilas, Murcia.
In September 2004, the First Painting Competition took place in memory of Jose Magaña Exposito. He was born into a farming family in Lucainena in 1910, fought on the Republican side in the Spanish Civil War and then with the French Resistance in the 2nd World War. He died 2002.
A second competition was held on 1st of May 2005 with 25 participants.
The base of the competition is that the work has to be produced within 6 hours beginning at 8 in the morning. The subject of the painting must come from within the town. A jury of famous Spanish painters select the best works. The first 4 places went to:
1st prize of € 1’000 sponsored by the town hall was won by: Rafael Terrés
2nd prize of € 500 sponsored by Venta el Museo was won by: Javier López
3rd prize of € 300 sponsored by the town hall was won by: Alberto Fernandez
4th price of € 250 sponsered by Venta el Museo was won by: Carmen Bastida
In the category for local painters Mrs. Rosa Camacho was adjudged the winner and won € 200 sponsored by the town hall of Lucainena.
Some of the paintings are exhibited in our Restaurant/Hotel until the end of July.
